Meet Mary

Hi! I’m Mary and I’m glad you’re here. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a National Certified Counselor, I take a collaborative, person-centered and trauma-informed approach to counseling, tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique needs. I’m committed to cultivating a therapeutic relationship grounded in genuineness, compassion, and respect and to creating a space where clients feel safe, valued, and empowered to make meaningful progress. Through an attuned and supportive process, I get to help clients make meaningful shifts by exploring patterns, building insight, developing effective coping skills, and using the many evidenced based practices I’ve learned so they can move toward healing, lasting change, resilience, and personal growth aligned with their values and goals.

In individual therapy, I specialize in working with those impacted by anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, low self-worth, the responsibilities of caregiving, people pleasing or approval seeking, grief, those in need of self-compassion, healthy relationships, boundaries, and just about everyone else. As a trauma-informed clinician, I am attentive to how past experiences impact present functioning, relationships, and the nervous system. I support clients in processing loss, navigating life transitions, and building resilience while increasing emotional regulation and self-understanding.

I provide premarital counseling for couples utilizing the Gottman Method, helping engaged partners build a strong foundation before marriage. I also love getting to work with long term couples who are interested in deepening their connection. My work with couples focuses on meeting them where they’re at, strengthening communication, clarifying shared values, navigating areas of potential conflict, and developing practical tools for long-term relationship health and stability.

Group therapy is close to my heart as I have seen how truly transformative in can be in the close to 4,000 hours I’ve had the privilege to lead. I love facilitating process, psychoeducation, support, skills development, and experiential groups. My approach creates a space where clients feel both challenged and supported as they build insight, strengthen coping strategies, and deepen connection with themselves and others. Drawing from evidence-based practices and a warm, collaborative style, I get to help group members move toward meaningful growth, healing, and lasting change. If this is a modality in which you are interested, please reach out to inquire about what's coming up.

My clinical approach incorporates evidence-based modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Post Traumatic Growth (PTG), and the Gottman Method. My work is informed by strengths-based, values-driven strategies that support emotional and psychological flexibility and the development of a more adaptive nervous system.
